　　現代滑雪運動大致可分為三種類別：阿爾卑斯山式（Alpine Skiing）、北歐式（Nordic Skiing）和自由式。

　　阿爾卑斯山式

　　滑雪是指沿雪坡滑降的滑雪運動，其名稱是由滑降運動源于阿爾卑斯山而得，包括了各式技巧和動作，其中三種最基本的動作：直降、橫渡和轉彎。

　　北歐式

　　滑雪包括了越野滑雪（Cross Country Skiing）和滑雪跳躍（Ski Jumping），名稱的由來是因為這種運動起源于北歐各國。越野滑雪是最大眾化的滑雪方式。

　　自由式

　　自由式滑雪其實就是一種特技表演，表演者從陡峭而崎嶇不平的雪坡向下滑降，同時還得表演后跳、踢腿，甚至翻跟頭等其他驚險的特技。
