Sadly, what young people who traveled a long dtance to go back home did during the Festival was not to communicate with the elders but to hold their cellphones all day long , just in order to grab red envelopes and get some money. 　　To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year’s Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. But the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the Lantern Festival, means the official end of the Spring Festival in many parts of the country.

　　我們中國最重要的節日是春節,也被稱為中國的新年。中國人民是西方人的圣誕節一樣重要。這個一年一度的慶典的日期是由農歷而不是公歷,所以假期的時間從一月底到二月初而異。

　　其實普通中國人,節日實際上開始于農歷新年前夕和結束的第五天農歷的第一個月。但是第一個月的15日,通常被稱為元宵節,春節意味著正式結束在這個國家的許多地區。
