　　Our capacity to cope successfully with lifes challenges far outstrips our capacity to feel nervousness. Yet in the weeks, days, and hours leading up to an event that we believe will test our limits, we can become nervous. While we may have previously regarded ourselves as equal to the trials that lie ahead, we reach a point at which they near and our anxiety begins to mount. We then become increasingly worked up, until the moment of truth arrives and we discover that our worry was all for nothing. 　　When we think of Thanksgiving today, images of football, pumpkin pie, parades, and turkey dinner complete with cranberry sauce come to mind, as well as plans for a Black Friday shopping spree the following day.

　　Of course none of these items were present back in 1621, when the Wampanoag people and the Pilgrims sat down together to give thanks for nature’s bounty. Although the celebrants at this particular meal didn’t even call it “Thanksgiving”, this particular harvest feast is the one after which we model our modern-day Thanksgiving celebrations.

　　People of both cultures had been giving thanks for the fall harvest and other gifts of nature for many centuries. It is interesting to note that the religious element, giving thanks to God, was not present at this particular celebration in 1621, even though the Pilgrims were devoutly religious. In fact, some early Pilgrim "thanksgiving days" were actually fasts rather than feasts. Imagine that!

　　However, the Native Americans had their own religious customs and beliefs. As a result, during this "first" Thanksgiving, Pilgrims and Native Americans did not focus on what was different between them, but instead concentrated on what they all shared. The two groups of people worked side by side to hunt and prepare food as equals and friends. Their friendship and cooperation was yet another thing for which to be thankful. Other feasts such as this one took place throughout the New World, where settlers and Native Americans worked together and celebrated together as one.

　　When we sit down to our Thanksgiving dinner, we honor a piece of early American history. The story of the Pilgrims and Native Americans serve as a good reminder for all of us to be thankful for what we have--no matter how much or how little.

　　當(dāng)下雨的時(shí)候，即時(shí)泡上了咖啡，坐在書(shū)房里玩網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲，但仍情不自禁地被外面的雨所吸引。雨滴在樹(shù)葉上，發(fā)出沉悶的聲音；雨滴在路上，濺起白色的泡沫；雨打了架，這聽(tīng)起來(lái)很像悅耳的鈴聲。

　　躺在窗臺(tái)上看雨，雨濃如珠簾，錘從天上下來(lái)，抓住一只手，她沒(méi)有開(kāi)玩笑地逃走了，只留下一絲涼爽的手掌。

　　下雨后，我和朋友們光著腳，在水坑玩積水。在雨中行走，我的腳很舒服，我把一個(gè)小伙伴濺濕，我們彼此都是濕的，我們真的玩得很開(kāi)心。

　　雨，你給了我們一涼爽，但也給我?guī)��?lái)了快樂(lè)。

　　Water Is Important 水是很重要的

　　Water is very important to us. If there is no water, we will die. We can eat nothing for few days, but we must drink water every day. Besides, if there is no water, the plants will not grow, and the animals will not live. Therefore, there will no food for us. But the water has been severely polluted nowadays. Much water is not suitable for drinking. For our human beings and our planet, we must protect water. Without it, there would be no life any longer in earth.

　　水對(duì)我們來(lái)說(shuō)是很重要的。如果沒(méi)有水，我們會(huì)死。我們可以幾天不吃東西，但是我們每天都必須喝水。此外，如果沒(méi)有水，植物就不能生長(zhǎng)，動(dòng)物也活不下去。因此，我們也就沒(méi)有了食物。但是現(xiàn)在水資源卻被嚴(yán)重污染，很多水都已經(jīng)不適合飲用。為了我們和我們的星球，我們一定要保護(hù)水資源。沒(méi)有水，地球上也就不會(huì)再有生命的存在。
