In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young. When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.

What I wanted to do was to show that everybody has thecapacity to be self-sufficient and all we have to do is to activate them. I would thensee them as a group for three hours every Friday. I also asked for a littlepetty cash to work with as I needed it.

　　Everyone found something. The man who put in the screen door became a handyman, and another woman who took in the children became a licensed foster careperson. In twelve weeks, I had all these people off public welfare. I’ve notonly done that once. I’ve done it many times.

　　每個人者倒淺到一些值得重視的東西。那位裝紗門的男士后來成為一名勤雜工。另外一位帶小孩的婦女成為一名手寺證護(hù)衛(wèi)廷人員。幫助所有的小組成員擺脫福利救濟(jì)總共用了12周時間。這不是一次性完成的，而是分好幾次。逐步努力實(shí)現(xiàn)的。
